About JyotishSakshi

Classical Jyotish, honestly built

Deterministic calculations. Source-backed interpretation. No invented claims. Here is what JyotishSakshi is, how a chart becomes a reading, and the conventions and safeguards behind it.

What JyotishSakshi is

JyotishSakshi is a classical Vedic Jyotish practice, built on three commitments: deterministic calculations, source-backed interpretation, and no invented claims.

Most horoscope apps generate generic text by Sun-sign. JyotishSakshi does the opposite. Everything personal to you begins with your own birth chart, calculated precisely, and every interpretation is traceable back to a classical source. If the sources do not support a claim, we do not make it.

How a chart becomes a reading

Your reading is built in clear, separate stages — each one feeding the next:

  1. 1

    Your birth details

Date, time and place of birth — the exact inputs a Vedic chart is built from.

  2. 2

    Astronomical calculation

Planetary positions computed with the Swiss Ephemeris, sidereal (Lahiri) with whole-sign houses.

  3. 3

    Classical Jyotish rules

Deterministic rules from classical texts decide which combinations in your chart carry meaning.

  4. 4

    Verified source evidence

Each finding is tied to a verified classical passage — nothing is invented.

  5. 5

    Personal interpretation

The evidence-bound findings are written into clear, readable language for you.

The role of AI — and what it never does

AI does not decide your chart. The astronomy and the classical Jyotish logic are fully deterministic.

Once your chart is calculated and the source-backed findings are settled, we use an AI language model for one job only: turning those already-fixed, evidence-bound findings into clear, readable language. Its output is checked against strict rules, and if anything falls outside what the evidence supports, we fall back to a deterministic, source-safe wording instead.

In other words, the meaning comes from your chart and the classical texts; AI only helps phrase it well.

Our methodology

For readers who want the specifics, here are the conventions behind every calculation:

  • Sidereal Jyotish — positions are measured against the fixed stars, as in the Vedic tradition (not the tropical zodiac used in Western astrology).
  • Lahiri ayanāṁśa — the standard sidereal reference used across most of India.
  • Whole-sign houses — each sign is one house, the oldest and most widely used house system in classical Jyotish.
  • Swiss Ephemeris — a high-precision astronomical engine computes the planetary positions.
  • Classical sources — interpretations draw on verified passages from texts such as Bṛhat Parāśara Horā Śāstra and Phaladīpikā, with the original reference preserved.
  • Evidence and provenance — every personal finding is linked to the specific rule and source passage it rests on, so a reading can always be traced back to its basis.

Interpretation safeguards

To keep readings honest, several safeguards are always in force:

  • No invented facts — chart placements, Sanskrit, citations and claims must come from your actual chart and the verified corpus.
  • No false precision — where birth time is uncertain, time-sensitive parts of a reading are held back.
  • No overreach — readings avoid guarantees, and never present medical, legal or financial claims.
  • Consistent results — the same chart and the same source version always produce the same reading, on every screen and in your downloadable report.
